Hi everyone i recently bough Auto rx for my twin turbo supra which is slightly running low compression due to the car not been driven in 9 years and mileage is low. The mechanic done leak down test etc and everything seems fine and is postive its down to carbon build up/sticky.Anyways i recently changed my oil to a fully synthetic 5w40 made by fuchs below is a link. The people i bough the oil from told me it is a group III but i just wana check is it ok to still use Auto rx with the below oil?
It is not a group 111. It is a full synthetic based on the web site you provided.
Product Information 100% Synthetic Oil For All Race Engines. The ultimate 100% ester/pao synthetic high performance engine oil that provides optimum protection and extended engine life and reliability. It exceeds the performance requirements of virtually all engine manufacturers. Combines exceptional anti-wear performance and outstanding high temperature protection with excellent cold start characteristics. Suitable for both turbocharged and normally aspirated engines to ensure maximum economy and reduced emissions.
Auto-Rx does the same thing by adding to Castrol GTX (example) and does it at less cost. You can use Auto-Rx with this oil.
YOU CAN'T RINSE WITH THIS OIL. I am curious did you ever read the Auto-Rx Web Site ?
I'd just run this sump out until you would normally change it. I'd then go to something like Mobil Delvac Super 1400 15W-40. It should work well with your twin turbo for the 4k-5k km that you need for Auto-Rx to work.
Otherwise, I'd run the Silkolene out to around 6k/km from when you would normally change it then add the Auto-Rx.
Buy the cheaper conventional oil for the rinse phase (both if you have the patience). The Delvac conventional is ABSOLUTELY capable of working in your engine. It carries an SJ rating and has an very good HTHS visc. It will be just fine for 5000km for rinsing.
Like any motor that has sat idle for years, start out slowly. At first start it and just let it idle for a while. Then take it on a very conservative short cruise. Next day may be a bit more driving, etc. Need to slowly moisten all the seals before you put the foot to it. Good luck with this nice ride.
