I just bought some Auto-RX to put in my transmission. I have a 1,000 mile round trip this weekend... so if I do the application, all 1,000 miles will be highway driving.
Is there a difference in effectiveness if the application is primarily done through highway driving? My thought was that there isn't a lot of changing gears while on a long roadtrip, so I wasn't sure if all of the parts in the transmission would be effectively cleaned.
Although you won't be shifting gears much, that long trip will have your transmission running at a constant operating temperature. I think this will be good for the Auto RX to work.
The good thing about an automatic is that any static situation is kept at temp. That is, the thermal component will still be there ..and Auto-Rx will still want to clean the metal.
Even if a servo or accumulator de-pressurizes the fluid is still there and Auto-Rx will still clean the metal.
Automatic transmission, as are hydraulic systems, are easier to clean up than the internals of an engine. They don't have to deal with combustion byproducts in the deposit formations. I had a sticking throttle position valve on my jeep. It was cured in a day or two. I went the full distance to assure that the converter and cooling circuits got clean, but some things are that easy.
