Hi Guys,

I picked up 95 GS300 last night with 168K on it.  It run fine but check engine light ON, asked owner told me, it's been on and off but car still ran fine with it on.  I just placed order 3 bottles of AutoRX want to do some cleaning when it arrives.  There is no oil leak on this car that I know off.   I need all your suggestion, input, and opinion on how I should start treats this car so I can keep it till the end that is my intension.   Thanks.

Buy extra filters (cheap ones). Change one out at 500 miles. If you're into it, cut it open and see if it's saturated (obviously plugged). If it is, change out the next one in another 500 miles ..same thing. If that one isn't plugged ..continue to the end of the 2500 miles on that filter.

If the light goes out ..and then returns, I would consider changing the filter at that point; whether it be cleaning or rinse phases.

This may require more than 2 treatments to fully complete the cleaning process.

I would change the PCV Valve and since you want to keep this car a long time I would do auto-rx in your:

1) Differential
2) Transmission
3) Powersteering

before you buy anothing noted above, get the codes (OBDII) on the light..ARX will ZERO on the light...

Got to autozone and they can read the codes for free. Start there.

I don't know if the Zone will read a 95. Was the Lexus an OBDII setup in 95. 96+ ..sure.

Either way, good advice to read the code(s) anyway.

When I bought my GS 300, it too had a check engine light that would not go away, we changed out alot of parts but nothing worked..... except auto rx. Now It did take sometime, I believe on my second rinse phase is when it went away permanently.

Go read the post that I have made regarding my car, also a 95gs300, I have logged every update sine I started using auto rx about 20k miles ago.
PM me if u have any questions
Good luck!

I'm still waiting for my Auto RX to arrive but have one question, what oil filter should I use for this clean or rinse phase(Fram, wix, napa, purelator, ets or just any cheap one)  I just replaced my PCV.  Thanks.

klvaleri,

Just use any cheap filter and check filter or replace every 500 miles.

The cheapest oil filter's are fine, leave the expensive oil filter's for the people who are doing extended drains. Any cheap oil filter will go 3000 too 5000 miles.

Well, thanks all of you that have been replies, I just got my AutoRX last Friday and did an oil change on yesterday with Supertech 5w-30 with cheapest oil filter not Fram I found in Wal-Mart.  I put the whole bottle of RX with 5 quarts.  I will change oil filter when it reach 500 miles.  Any more suggestion would be very appreciated.  Thanks.
