Too Much?

Hi..  First post here.  Question:  If I add 12-18 oz. of Auto-RX to my already full oil pan will I be in danger of damaging something because of overfill?  Should I drain out some of the regular oil first?  I have a 2002 Volvo S40 that holds almost 6 quarts of oil.  Thanks.

Auto-Rx is not a solvent or a petroleum based chemistry so there is nothing that will change your oil viscosity or chemistry or hurt your engine.

Engine oil reserves are for the most part larger than stated since Auto-Rx will be on your engine parts within 250 miles. I don't see a problem.

The factory may warn you never to exceed the full mark on the dipstick, however many sumps are routinely overfilled and no apparent harm comes of it.

There was a time when I might have worried about overfilling my engine by 12-18 ounces but I don't anymore.

Thank you for the replies.  I'm waiting for my shipment of ARX to arrive.  This is the first product like this that I haven't seen many (if any) negative opinions.  I just changed the oil and filter and ARX will go in as soon as I get it.  Let the cleaning begin!  biggrin
