devolic,

I would use 3 cleanings since you are at 300K. Do you know if the engine has sludge?

Wow... That is a lot of miles! In addtion to following the ARX treatment of your choice suggest you change out your PCV valve if you haven't already done so all ready.

My hunch is that you will start to feel a difference within 500 miles after pouring ARX in your engine.

Well, you're surely into getting your money's worth out of a car. Good for you.

Two treatments might do it ..three would not be too many.

I may be wrong, but I suspect that this is a 3.0 Vulcan. Amazing, if not all that exciting an engine. It could be a 2.3 4 banger ..which was equally as stout ..but not as popular.

My daughter's 91 responded quite well to Auto-Rx. It reduced oil consumption from quarts per hour of operation to quarts per month. It reduced it enough to allow 6 month oil change intervals without enough consumption to top off.

While it wasn't 300k ..we've seen a few 200k+/- that weren't in that bad a shape visually. Even a honey glaze of heavier varnish like deposits is understandable unless the mileage was accumulated over 10 years and the oil changes were real regular.

The biggest benefit that most notice is the restored power due to ring pack decoking. It degrades so slowly that no one notices. It's like most drivability aspects of a car. They change so little over so long that you never really detect that anything is wrong.

I would suggest running the cleaning phase to 5,000 miles, and the rinse phase to 10,000 miles with Motorcraft Synthetic Blend or Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30. Change the oil filter out at 2,500 miles on the clean phase and at 5,000 miles at the rinse phase. Keep an eye on the oil regularly, other than that - throw a bottle in and forget about it.
