Is there that much of a benefit using 24 ounces vs. say 18 ounces ?
I am a bit nervous adding 24 ounces.

You are certainly in no danger of doing any harm....or you could save 6 oz for a maintenance dose after your rinse is done.

You could put in a quart and not have it be too much with that sump. I think (don't quote me for the exact figure) that the limit is 17% of the sump size. If I did the math right, that would be 48+oz. That would be for the Fast Track method.
