would you say that its safe for me to use auto rx in my transmission with such high miles? the last time the fluid was touched was at about 100k... so that would put it at about 150k on this fluid. there is no slipping and no issues with my transmission besides having a hard shift in to reverse.... but other than that no issues. so what do ya say yes or no
Depends on how long you plan on keeping the car. 150,000 miles is a VERY long time to be using the same tranny fluid. My Toyota dealer changes mine every 30,000 miles. Auto-RX will clean out the dirt and other stuff in there and help soften the seals but after 247,000 miles it's anybodies guess as to what may happen. I used it my 1995 Camry Wagon with around 120,000 miles on it and to me it seems to shift better. Then again I change my fluid regularly. I will use Auto RX again around 150,000 miles. I would presume that it would benefit your transmission. If it were me I would change the transmission fluid first and then add Auto-RX and run it for 3,000 miles and then change the fluid again using the preferred T-Tech method. Make sure you read the transmission application regarding Auto-RX. Best of luck whatever you decide to do.
Doing anything to the transmission fluid after this long is a risk. But the fact that your fluid is so old, puts your transmission at risk every day that you do nothing. Catch 22.
I'd recommend either doing nothing, or doing a slow gradual fluid change. That is, do a drain and fill which replaces about 1/2 of your fluid and then drive it for a few thousand miles (versus a flush which replaces all the fluid). If that goes well you can add some autorx at that time, and then do a flush after the autorx treatment.
I recommend you do a search on "transmission" and see what others have experienced.

I would drain a quart, and put in a quart of fresh fluid in. If there is an improvement in shift quality, replace 3-4 quarts of fluid and dump in half a bottle of Auto-RX. Drive 3,000 miles and do a cooler line flush to replace all the fluid. Best of luck.
