Auto-RX (Its NOT snake Oil)

So heres the dealIve tried all kinds of snake oils in my early days. With the advent of BITOG forum I was keyed into Lube Control products and Auto-RX products, both of which are the real deal according DysonAnalysis. Ive used both, and Ive used them extensively and on multiple vehicles (02 VW TDI, 75 FJ40, 99 Tacoma, 96 LX450, and an 05 GX470). Im going to focus on an example from the 96 LX450 for this blog (has over 207,000 miles, some highway, some off-roading) and provides for a great case study.

While both products work with different chemistry modalities, I have to say that the Auto-RX seems to work better. I take fairly diligent MPG records, and every time I use Auto-RX I noticed an increase in MPG and power. While power is relative to each user, without the use of a Dyno, its good enough for me! As some of you know, Toyota engines are prone to sludging, and that is a concern I DO have. I knew that Auto-RX was doing its job when I recently had my 96 LX450 engines head gasket replaced by a well respected mechanic within the LandCruiser community. He had randomly asked me what I do to my engine, as it was super clean (given its high mileage). Now, this guy has seen MANY toyota engines, so this was quite the compliment. I told him that I did a couple of flushes with Auto-RX and continued with 10k (or one year) mileage oil changes using Schaeffers 7000 oil and Amsoil Filters (I used to use Amsoil oil, but it got too expensive).

I knew my gas receipts were telling me something, but having the above confirmation was quite reassuring. I should note, that I converted my truck to 2wd for highway driving. Between all the modifications, and 37 tires, I was consistently seeing improved MPG numbers given all my modifications. I know driving habits and other factors can attribute to this, but I can say with confidence that Auto-RX did not negatively effect it! I can further confirm this via my GX470. I just started its first Auto-RX cleaning (it has 70k miles on it), and with Cheap Wal-Mart oil and 16oz of Auto-RX the computer MPG is already reading higher than it has prior. Im excited to see the results after the cleaning round is complete.

I continue to this day using Auto-RX, and after all my LC-20 is used up, I feel that my maintenance dose will continue with Auto-RX.
