I am writing you back regarding your thoughts that the oil pick up screen is becoming blinded by coked oil deposits. First I must say that the origin of these coked oil deposits is not at the screen. These specs are likely being formed in the turbo unit, or possibly in and around the piston rings. Auto-Rx can help dissolve these coked deposits, provided that you are still getting an adequate flow of oil past the pick up screen and circulating oil throughout the oiling system. If the pick up screen is totally blind with debris and oil is not able to be pumnped throughout the system, then your only remedy is to drop the oil pan and hand clean or replace the pick up screen.
Auto-Rx has to have good oil flow to work on the source of the coked oil deposits. If your oil flow is severely restricted already I would not expect optimal results. If you are still operating with decent oil pressure and flow then I would be optimistic that ARX can solve your problems.
I would recommend that you start the application real soon based on your initial email. I would run a full bottle of ARX in a fresh fill of oil, with a new filter installed. For best results, we recommend running a group III synthetic oil for your application. Pennsoil Platenum, Castrol Syntec, are a couple of examples of group III, mineral oil based oil that would be suitable for your application.
Tell me a bit more about the service intervals and oil selection over the last year or so. And any other symptoms you may be having that makes you suggest that the pick up screen may be clogged.
