Accordingly the amounts recommended for AutoRX are the following given the ,
Engine Oil 15 Ounces or 3 ounces/quart Transmission 6 Ounces Differential 4 Ounces Power Steering 1 Ounce
Given that I have changed the fluids once at 66K miles and it is due for another full change of all fluids at 100K miles, would it be a problem to add twice the amount of AutoRX. Since I bought the vehicle I have fed the car with the best oil I could find. However it still seems a little sluggish and I have noted a little "slipping" recently on the current transmission oil change. I am also noting that the power steering pump since day one has been noisy with lots of hissing. However I am not leaking any oil and I am not burning/loosing any oil either. I did have the head gaskets replaced at 68K and I have since used either Mobil 1 or currently AMSOIL 5w-20 in the crankcase. When I had the engine head gaskets replaced I was told at that time I had a "clean" engine. If I do this I am planning on following up with a full fluid drain of all the oils and replacing the transmission, power steering, and differential with AMSOIL fluids. However after talking briefly with Frank, I am leaning towards the use of the 5w-20 xl engine oil for the rinse and 2nd engine clean phases.
In looking at best practices however I was wondering,
1. Is there a maintenance dose for the transmission, differential, and power steering?
2. Would a maintenance dose for the engine of 4 ounces be sufficient for my Ford 4.6L engine?
3. would two wash, rinse cycles following the following schedule be correct for the engine?,
a. wash with 24 ounces (possibly thinking 30 ounces or 2.5 bottles) for the first cycle and run for 3000 miles,
b. Change oil to the amsoil xl oil and run for 1500K miles
c. Wash with 15 ounces of AutoRX the second time for 3000K miles
d. Rinse with amsoil xl oil for 1500K miles.
e. run with amsoil 0W-20 full synthetic from this point with 4 ounces per fill of AutoRX.
4. Would use of a full bottle in the transmission be harmful?
thanks in advance.

P.S. I have changed the oil in my engine on a good schedule.

No need to add more than one bottle for each clean cycle unless you cannot run the require 2500 miles in a reasonable amount of time. Also, no need to run expensive synthetics for the clean or rinse cycles. I have had very good success using Mobil Clean 5000 which is rated up to 5000 miles and 6 months for use. You may use this oil for clean or rinse. Save your money for the Amsoil for when you are DONE with Auto-Rx cycles, really. Heck, Frank recommends Supertech for clean and rinse, and it works fine too. Your amounts for other components is fine.

I did ask a number of questions here that have not been answered. And one more question in addition to those if the first post is would running the clean cycle in the differential, transmission, and power steering be a problem if it went 3000mi before a change?
As far as maintenance dose, not needed in any but the engine. 4 oz is fine. Amsoil XL is fine for clean or rinse, but sort of wasting a 7-10k mile oil on a 3000 mile run. Also, no problem to run 3000 miles in those components before changing to your new Amsoil fluids. I have gone much longer with no harm done.
Your plan will not hurt anything, but I would do the following instead:
Put 1 bottle ARX in and run 3000+ miles on whichever oil you choose. You have a relatively clean engine, so going more than 2500 miles should not be an issue.
Change oil and filter and drive about 3000 miles for the "rinse".
At this point I would think your engine should be ok to switch over to the maintenance dose to keep clean. If you have over 100k miles and want to do a second treatment, that would be ok, just depends on how much ARX and patience you have left.
Hopefully your questions have been answered somewhat. I have successfully used this product in many vehicles with very good results, so I am trying to tell you what has worked for me. I still say you will get outstanding results by using some of the oil recomended above for the clean and rinse, and save some $. That oil is on sale for 1.99/qt now at Autozone, if that helps.
You asked also about a full bottle of ARX in the trans. I would not do it since it will not clean better and may affect the coefficient of friction of the ATF. ARX has friction modifying esters as well as cleaning esters, and may reduce the level of needed friction in the fluid at higher doses. Mind you, not to a harmful degree, but it will have some effect. At 6 oz recommended dose there is no noticeable effect, but it still cleans well and has helped solve shifting issues in several units over ther years. Remember in a trans, there is much less contamination since there is no combustion. Deposits clean much more easily, even at the 6 oz dose.
