I'm new to the forum, but have used ARX before. I just wanted to ask some questions about the 1.8t and it's sludge problems. I own a 04' A4 cab. with only 7,500 miles on the engine. I use about 3-4 oz. with every oil change (about twice a year). Is this good enough without ever running a cleaning phase? Or should I go ahead and clean and rinse the engine out for good measure. I run the Mann filters and some German synthetic oil (forgot the name off the top of my head).
I also just ran a cleaning phase in my Nissan Titan, but spaced out about the rinsing phase and added 3-4 oz. of ARX in the new oil. So I guess after 3,000 miles I should drain, refill and use this as my rinsing phase? Or can I just use what's in there as the rinse phase?
Any info. or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
On the Audi, I would continue as you are currently doing. On the Nissan, just go without any ARX on the next oil change. That will be your rinse phase.
