Wet floor pan and carpet - passengers side, during and after a rain?

When I lifted my rubber floor mat.right-front one,the carpet is wet?

Changed oil and used one can of RX and had to add a quatr after only 300 miles. After driving 1,000 miles on my first can of RX installed, had added 3 qts;So I Did  a valve seal replacement ,changed the oil and oil filter and put in another can of RX.It used one qt of oil during that 1,000 mile round.Just ordered another can of RX and will change the oil and filter again. Before using RX it smoked a great deal. Now after 2,000 miles and 2 qts and valve seal replacement it no longer smokes.I`m hopeing the 3rd qt will reduce oil consumpsion even more.Compression check shows all cyl`s running around 190psi.Mines a 1.6Liter motor w/ a single overhead cam. 259,000 miles on the odometer.

sounds like progress - make sure to keep your oil topped off so you never are low

for the water leak, it is probably a bad windshield seal but could be many things.  You might pose the question on the corolla older generation forum on toyotanation.com, as others with your car have probably had this problem.  I just did a quick search there and did not see anything, but here is a thread about a similar problem on the totyota ae86 which is also from the mid-80s
