I have a 98 Toyota tacoma V6, just turned over 100K miles. In the 1.5 years I've owed the truck, I've been dealing with blue smoke off and on when first staring engine.
There are two times in the last year I had alot of blow by and lost power for a bit. The truck has been needing a little extra oil-about 1 Qt- in-between oil changes. It seems to lag up hills and had a hard time coming up a small mountain with lumbar in the back.
The truck runs, but emits bluish smoke more, I recently had it checked and mechanic showed me a picture of heavy sludge under valve cover.. Gross!
Heard about auto-Rx and feel I should try it.
Does anyone have similar problem and would recommend anything?
Should I clean off sludge first before stating auto-Rx cleaning stage?
Someone suggested kerosine or oven cleaner to get caked on oil off?
