Had success with ARX last year in a 02 V6 Toyota. The smoking on start up and poor oil consumption were solved. Added 2oz of ARX with the oil/filter changes since. This last week the symptoms returned. Any thoughts as to the reasons. Any solutions?
Car is driver 14 miles each way in suburban setting. Using 5w/30 from Walmart and Wix. Last 2 changes were < 4000 miles.
Try changing your filter. Using The Auto-Rx Maintenance Plan keeps your engine clean and 4000 Miles between oil changes may indicate a new filter at 2K spin it on top off with oil. Check your PVC Valve.

Reading your message makes me feel pessimistic. I think my 03 Lexus has the same type of V6 engine. Is that a 3.0L engine? I am asking for help on another topic. However, mine dosen't consume oil (or maybe just a little). It only smokes on startup.

How long or how many miles of consumption free driving was done prior to the symptoms returning? Perhaps 4K oil change interval was a bit too long, in a sludge prone engine. I would guess that it was if running conventional oil. Might be time to run a basic cleaning application again to make the problem go away. Then either shorten your oil change intervbal to 3000 miles with the maintenance dose, or up the concentration to 3 fluid ounces of maintenance dose and go for 3500 miles.
I am still a believer in ARX. Use it for the smoking for sure. Whats going on in my circumstance is hard to say. These engines are so temperamental. It's my understanding that the engine on your car is similar except it was refined because of this type of issue so it's not exactly the same.
