I own a 2003 Ford F-150 with 115k miles on it. Unfortunately, the service history is unknown prior to my purchase is unknown (64k when I bought it), but based on the vehicle condition, I suspect it was well maintained. I've ordered this product with the intention of doing the "Sludge Removal" process and following the directions EXACTLY. I believe my truck has slowly become a bit doggier and doggier as the years have gone on, so I believe the sludge removal will help out. I plan on using Mobil 1 (non synthetic) "Super" Oil during the clean and rinse phases, as it is easily availible in my area. When all the cleaning is done, I'll switch back to Pennzoil Ultra Synthetic. Also, the oil cap suggests 5w-20, so thats the grade I'll use.
I'll be tearing things down from time to time depending on my budget and time contraints so I'll do my best to keep everyone informed of what happens to my truck, but ultimately, I'm going to document this from a "real world" persepective (using MPG gain, "power felt" increase, acceleration, etc) as opposed to taking a ton of pictures and showing it physically clean.
Anyways, depending on how well this works, I'll probably do the same thing with my transmission and my power steering, as I know it's getting close to changing time for thier associated fluids.

I assume that you are going to run Mobil Super 5000, which is a mineral oil based motor oil. All of the Mobil 1 products are PAO based to the best of my knowledge. Show us the before pictures before you get started, so as to help you out the best we can. Might be a good idea to check out the pcv valve on this unit if it has not been changed out recently. In many cases this is the cause of sludging to begin with. My guess is that if you have been maintaining this truck properly over the last 50,000 miles it should be in decent condition, unless the crankcase ventilation is not working.
