I opened a bottle of Auto-RX what is years ago now and used half of it for a transmission clean. I'm gradually coming up on 200k mi and will likely do another trans clean. I'm wondering if the Auto-RX (which I've keep indoors in a house closet the entire time) is still "active" or whatever, or, if I should order another bottle on top of the one I'll order when I get to 200k for my engine clean? I'm fine either way, just hate to waste it if it'd still could reliably be considered to be good.
Can I still use Auto-Rx® that has been in my garage for a couple of years?
Auto-Rx® is a highly concentrated combination of ester-based cleaning components and has a thick consistency. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. If the bottle is intact and the contents have not been contaminated by foreign substances, Auto-Rx® should remain viable for use. Auto-Rx® pours best at room temperature.
Sorry about that Frank, should have read the FAQ before replying! Looks like it should be good, I can't imagine how any contamination would have got in there, it's in the original Auto-RX bottle with the cap on tight. Thanks as always for the quick reply!
